CHEMMEEN PATIRY (Prawn-Rice Dumpling)

Filling :
Prawns -1/2 kg, marinated in chilly, turmeric powder and salt
Onion-2
Green chilly 2
Ginger garlic paste-1tbsp
Chilly powder - 1/4tsp
Oil
Salt
Curry leaves
For covering :
Rice flour 1 cups, roasted
Water - 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cups, (depending on rice flour)
Salt -to taste
Oil -1tsp
Steps
Filling :
* Fry the prawns and keep it aside.
* Chop the fried prawns in 2-3pcs each.
* In the same oil which we fried prawns, sauté onion, green chilly and ginger garlic paste.
* Add salt, chilly powder and sauté again.
* Mix prawns and curry leaves . Keep it aside. [endif]
Covering :
* Boil water, salt and oil.
* As soon as the water boils turn off the flame and immediately mix rice flour with it. Knead it for 1 minute.
* Make small balls out of the dough and press it.
* Add the prawn fillings.
* Either fold it in half or place another pressed dough on top of it.
* Steam cook it for 5-10 mints or until cooked.
